Thailand Updates Healthier Choice Logo Nutritional Criteria

Thailand updated the nutrient criteria for the voluntary “Healthier Choice” nutritional symbol, tightening limits on energy, sugar, saturated fat, and sodium across instant food, snacks, and alternative products.

On June 18, 2026, Thailand released the Announcement of the Subcommittee on the Development and Promotion of the Use of Simplified Nutritional Symbols Re: Nutrient or Nutritional Value Criteria Used in the Consideration of Certifying the "Healthier Choice" Nutritional Symbol Display in Each Food Group (No. 4). This voluntary regulation updates the nutritional evaluation criteria for the "Healthier Choice" certification across three main food categories to promote better public health. The regulation came into effect immediately upon its official signing on June 2, 2026. A transition period of 36 months is granted to food industry stakeholders.
