On May 29, 2018, China General Administration of Customs (GAC) issued Announcement No.51-2018, abolishing mandatory requirements to obtain a quarantine license prior to importation of 75 items. Important commodities affected include:
HS code | HS name |

1504100090 | Liver oil and its fractions of other fishes |
1504200010 | Fish oil, fat and its fractions of other endangered fishes (liver oil excluded) |

The decision became effective on Jun 1, 2018. From now on stakeholders do not need to file application for quarantine approval or obtain an Entry Animal and Plant Quarantine License prior to export. This latest reform is just another step towards streamlining customs procedures and expediting clearance and follows on from the cancelation of “Customs Clearance of Entry Commodities”. It is important to remember that applicants will still need register with the customs and go through inspection and quarantine as before.
