China SAMR Unveiled 2018 Food Related Product National Sampling Results

Plastic food related products were subject to the highest sampling rate in the 2018 national sampling campaign and achieved a satisfactory grade. Products with high disqualification rate will be subject to more stringent supervision in follow-up inspection, including melamine tableware and paper cups.

According to an SAMR announcement issued on Dec. 28, in 2018 China SAMR conducted national sampling inspection on 24 types of food related products, involving food-contact plastic, food-contact paper and paperboard, food-contact glass products and metal products for food contact use. Altogether 2304 batches of products (excluding export products) from 2218 enterprises were inspected, the overall qualification rate is 95.6%.

The statistics shows that the food-contact metal products have the highest disqualification rate, reaching to 13.7%. The detailed inspection information are listed below:
