On May 5th, 2019, China SAMR released the "Administrative Measures for Green Products Symbol Usage", detailing symbol pattern, usage requirements and supervision. This regulation is applicable to foods bearing the green product label and will come into effect on June 1st 2019.
Green products include:

| Certification project 1 | The product is listed in national green product certification category, and it is evaluated based on green product certification rules issued by SAMR. |  |
| Certification project 2 | The certification of product concerns “green characters”, such as organic, environmental, energy-efficient, recycled and etc. It is evaluated by a relevant certification authority based on corresponding certification rules |  The applicant shall clarify if there is any other indication added to the basic symbol |
| Others | Self-declaration of product containing “green characters” | The patter shall be clarified in the scheme if the green product symbol is used |
Except in special circumstances, enterprises can use the green product symbol on products, nameplates, packages, attached documents (such as specification and qualification certificate), and e-commerce platform through printing, mould pressing and any other technologies.
