On November 8, 2017, India released the Manual for Food Imports, detailing food import procedures, documentation requirements, clearance process, and products review.
India has an online system for clearance named FICS (https://ics.fssai.gov.in/). Importers should be registered on this system and submit required documents on it.

During the Organic World Congress held on November 9, India FSSAI issued a unified regulation and a common logo for organic foods. In addition, consumers can verify the authenticity of organic food through ‘Indian Organic Integrity Database Portal’ at http://www.jaivikbharat.fssai.gov.in./
