Indonesia BPOM Calls for New Feedback on Draft Regulation for Foods for Special Nutritional Uses

Indonesia is revising its core regulation on Foods for Special Nutritional Uses (including infant formula, complementary foods, and FSMP/PKMK) and has opened a new public consultation with deadlines on February 18 and March 17, 2026.

On January 27, 2026, Indonesia BPOM announced a new round of public consultation following a brainstorming session on the revision of its cornerstone regulation for Foods for Special Nutritional Uses (PKGK). The ongoing review of Regulation No. 1 of 2018 aims to update the safety, quality, nutritional, and labeling standards for products targeting vulnerable groups. The latest draft, released in December 2024, introduces significant changes for infant formula, complementary foods, and foods for special medical purposes (PKMK). BPOM has set deadlines of February 18, 2026, and March 17, 2026, for stakeholders to submit new feedback on different product categories.
