Indonesia BPOM Issues New Regulation on Risk-Based Business Licensing for Food and Drug Sectors

The new regulation establishes updated standards for business activities and products under the risk-based business licensing framework, covering a wide range of products, including processed food, health supplements, natural ingredient drugs, quasi-drugs, cosmetics, and drugs.

On October 3, 2025, Indonesia BPOM enacted BPOM Regulation No. 27 of 2025 on Business Activity and Product Standards in the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing for the Drug and Food Subsectors, a new regulation establishing updated standards for business activities and products under the risk-based business licensing framework. This regulation applies to a wide range of products, including processed food, health supplements, natural ingredient drugs, quasi-drugs, cosmetics, and drugs. The new regulation took effect on the promulgation date, and officially revoked and replaced BPOM Regulation No. 10 of 2021.
