On 18 Sep 2015, Indonesia National Agency for Drug and Food Control (NADFC) notified WTO of the Draft Regulation on the Control of Processed Food Advertising Control. According to the regulation, companies that deal with foods for medical purposes and processed food bearing disease risk factor reduction labeling claims must obtain marketing approval from the National Regulatory Authority before publishing the advertisement. Information contained in the advertisement must be in accordance with the approved label, correct and not misleading. All processed food advertising will fall under this pending regulation.
This draft regulation replaces the regulation of The Chairman of NADFC RI No. HK.00.05.52.1831 Year 2008, “Guideline of Food Advertising”.
