ISO Unveiled New Testing Standards for Infant Formula

ISO 20635 and 20636 will be served as internationally agreed standard for testing vitamin C and vitamin D in infant formula.

In July 2018 ISO (international organization for standardization) released 2 international standards for testing infant formula (including infant formula for special medical purposes) and adult nutritionals, which are:

These 2 testing standards can be used as reference methods for dispute resolutions. In the near future they will be adopted by regulators, commercial laboratories, as well as manufacturers of infant formula and milk products.

The new standards are just 2 in a series of infant formula ISO standards. They are developed as part of an overall framework with the major goal of formulating standard methods for performance requirement and analysis methods of over 20 priority nutrients in infant formula and adult nutritionals.
