Malaysia Changes the Application Method for Foreign Slaughterhouses and Processing Plant Approval

As revealed by a WTO notification issued on August 26, 2024, the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) has revised the application method and procedures for registering foreign slaughterhouses and processing plants.

In Malaysia, it is crucial for overseas stakeholders to obtain approval for their slaughterhouses and processing establishments before exporting relevant animal and animal products to the country. Now the JAKIM primarily updates the application method and procedures, transitioning from a manual form to an online system through the JAKIM International Abattoir Application System (JIAAS) at http://myehalal.halal.gov.my/jiaas/v1/.

    - Dairy products

    - Egg products
