SAMR Releases List of Auxiliary Materials for Health Food Filing (2019), Appended with 17 Substances

17 new ingredients have been added to the list of auxiliary materials permitted in health foods. New standards for ingredients used as both foods and pharmaceutical drugs have also been released.

China State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) publicized the List of Auxiliary Materials for Health Food Filing and Terms of Use (2019 edition) on November 6, 2019.[1] It will enter effect on Dec. 1, 2019. An additional 17 substances are included in this version:

List of Auxiliary Materials for Health Food Filing and Terms of Use (trial) was initially published in May 2017 and proposed to be revised in June this year (read news: SAMR Consults on Approval of 17 Auxiliary Materials Used in Health Food Subject to Filing)[2] before it was amended and published in November.
