Food additives are substance added to food in order to preserve flavor, enhance taste and appearance. Imported food additives should have Chinese label and instruction. Such labels and instructions shall conform to the provisions of China’s Food Safety Law and other relevant regulations and requirements of the national food safety standards. Imported food additives failing to meet the requirements shall be confiscated and fined by entry-exit inspection and quarantine authorities in accordance with the Regulations on the Implementation of China's Food Safety Law.
