Shenzhen Mandates Full Traceability for Imported Liqour and Dairy Sold Through E-Commerce

On Dec 4th 2014, Shenzhen, a major economic hub in the southern part of China, announced the following two local regulations with a view to more effectively regulating E-Commerce and post-market supervision of imported liquor and dairy products. The new regulations place a particular emphasis on product traceability and labeling requirements:

  • SDDB/Z 118-2014 Quality information specification of online trading for imported commodities Liquor

  • SDDB/Z 119-2014 Quality information specification of online trading for imported commodities Dairy Products 

In Shenzhen imported liquor and dairy products sold through e-commerce platforms should have basic product information, trademark, bar code, product pictures and Chinese labels. Traceability information such as a traceability code is also required. In addition to this information, documents like a free sale certificate, customs declaration form of imported goods and qualified entry-exit inspection and quarantine certificates are also needed.
