On Oct.22, 2019, Singapore Food Agency (SFA) announced the amendment to “Veterinary Conditions for Importation of Pork and Pork Products”. This updated regulation has been notified with WTO members on Oct. 14.
The major changes are listed below:
The exporting countries/regions shall be free of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) with or without vaccination, African Swine Fever, Swine Vesicular Disease and Classic Swine Fever for 3 months immediately prior to the date of slaughter and the date of export. (3 months is newly added)
Meat exported to Singapore shall be kept in a country/zone free from FMD (with or without vaccination), ASF and CSF.
Pork and pork products can only be imported from SFA-approved sources. Please note that current veterinary health certificates issued by the exporting countries will continue to be accepted by Singapore authority.
