In accordance with the Notice No. 2019-317 [1], MFDS intends to revise the Standard and Specification of Health Functional Food on June 26th, 2019. Here are the main revisions.

Due to the revision of Food Additive Standard and Rules [2], MFDS now permits the use of 5-MTHF-glucosamine ((6S)-5-Methyltetrahydrofolic Acid, Glucosamine Salt) as the ingredient for making folic acid.
Newly added functional claims for ginseng and hyaluronic acid
The daily intake of bilberry extract was revised

Revise the specification of green tea extract
Revise the testing method of 8 functional ingredients
Newly added the simultaneous analysis method of vitamin A and vitamin E as well as the testing method for 5-MTHF.
