Taiwan Proposes to Regulate PFAS in Food, Including PFOS, PFOA, PFNA and PFHxS

Taiwan released a draft regulation setting maximum limits for four key PFAS (PFOS, PFOA, PFNA, PFHxS) in high‑risk foods such as meat, aquatic products, and eggs.

On December 29, 2025, Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) released the Draft Handling Regulation for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in Foods1 for public consultation. The proposed regulation establishes maximum limits for four specific PFAS in high-risk food categories, including meat, aquatic products, and eggs, to enhance food safety and reduce consumer exposure.
