Taiwan Stipulates Infant Food Testing Methods

On 22 Apr 2015, Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) released “Method of Test for Aflatoxin B1 in Cereal-based Foods for Infants” which has come into immediate effect.

The new stipulation specifies

  • Application Scope: Cereal-based complementary foods for infants and young children

  • Testing Methods: After the sample is extracted and refined, HPLC shall be performed.

  • Maximum Residual Limit for Aflatoxin B1: 0.5ppb

Meanwhile “Method of Test for Aflatoxin in Foods-Aflatoxin M1&M2 in Liquid Dairy Products” was abolished.
