On June 15, 2023, Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) released an amendment to Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods and Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Animal Products. The changes mainly include the addition, revision and deletion of pesticide residue limits. The amendment took effect on the date of promulgation.
Major revision to Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods
TFDA revises Appendix Table 1 of Article 3, in which 10 types of pesticides are added or amended, covering 52 maximum residue limit items. In addition, 7 types of pesticides are deleted, covering 14 items. Examples of the pesticide residue are shown below:
