On Oct. 15, 2015, Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) announced 10 food industry sectors that are required to establish testing laboratories. The regulation will become mandatory from Dec. 31, 2016 onwards.
The Ten food industry sectors are:
Edible fats and oils
Processed meat products
Processed dairy products
Aquatic products
Flour
Starch
Edible salt
Sugar
Soybean sauce
Tea beverages
The manufacturers, processing enterprises or traders within the aforementioned food industry sectors who have carried out plant registration with a capital investment of more than NTD 100 million are required to set up testing laboratories.
