On February 20, 2025, the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) released Draft Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Amendment Regulations, 2025. Any feedback can be submitted within 60 days from the date of publication.
The proposed revisions focus on nutrition information, the milk logo, and labeling requirements for coffee-chicory mixtures. Details are summarized below:
1. The draft requires that the percentage (%) contribution to the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for added sugar, saturated fat, and sodium be displayed in bold letters, with an increased font size for better visibility.
2. All milk and milk products, including composite milk products shall carry the logo as specified below. The FSSAI also provides detailed specifications of logo in the draft.

3. The draft adds that the declarations for coffee-chicory mixture shall be displayed on front of the package, in capital letters within a rectangular box on the principal display Panel. The current regulations include the following detailed declarations:
