[Updated] U.S. Food Additives Updates: Vitamin D3 and Hydrogen Peroxide Updated for Safe Use in Foods

Vitamin D3 permitted as a nutrient supplement in yogurt and other fermented dairy products, at levels not exceeding 178 IU per 100 g. Hydrogen peroxide permitted in foods as an antimicrobial agent, oxidizing and reducing agent, and bleaching agent, and to remove sulfur dioxide, in accordance with good manufacturing practice, provided the residual hydrogen peroxide is removed appropriately during food processing.
