According to a GAC announcement issued on Feb. 13, 2020, 133 batches of food products from 39 countries/regions were rejected by China GAC in December 2019, amounting to 1316.6 tons. Lack of inspection and quarantine permit was the leading reason for rejection by customs officials, followed by non-compliant labels and the detection of toxic substances during testing.
It is worth noting that a batch of infant formula goat milk powder produced by VIPLUS DAIRY was rejected due to the use of unqualified labels. The cause of the issue has been attributed to a logistical error in which a batch of products destined for Singapore incorrectly delivered to China.
