In May of 2022, China permitted 36 new food raw materials, additives and food-related products. South Korea consulted on Food Code. Japan strengthened quarantine of import and export of harmful animals and plants. Vietnam proposed to revise the Inspection and Quarantine Law on Terrestrial Animals and Animal Products. Singapore clarified the labeling requirements for prepacked herbs. Malaysia repealed the Approved Permit for four agro-food commodities. India to amend labeling requirements for alcoholic beverages. Philippines adjusted the validity of import clearances for meat products to 60 days.

Overview of Regulatory Updates in EU | April 2022

In April 2022, quite a few regulatory updates happened in EU, including 5 regulations related to the authorization of substances, 5 concerning the amendment to maximum residue levels, specification and condition of the use of substances, 2 r related to epidemiological situation, 2 regarding monitoring plan and 1 related to geographical indications. These regulations shall enter into force on the twentieth day following its publication date in the Official Journal of the European Union, unless otherwise specified.
