ANVISA updated Brazil’s positive lists for food additives and processing aids, revising authorized substances, functions, maximum limits, and conditions of use across several food categories.
The rule also adds new permitted substances and restructures existing entries for products such as bakery goods, dietary foods, canned vegetables, and food supplements.
On June 12, 2026, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published Normative Instruction No. 452 of June 10, 2026. This new rule amends the positive lists of authorized food additives and processing aids, updating their functions, maximum limits, and conditions of use in various food categories. The regulation came into effect on the date of its publication.
