Brazil Updates Regulation on Food Additives and Processing Aids

Brazil’s ANVISA issued Normative Instruction No. 432/2026, immediately updating the positive list of authorized food additives and processing aids, including additions, removals, and revised maximum limits.
On April 2, 2026, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published Normative Instruction (IN) No. 432/2026, which updates the list of authorized food additives and processing aids. The new instruction amends IN No. 211/2023 by adding, removing, and modifying substances and their conditions of use. The regulation took effect on the date of its publication, with a specific transition period established for certain labeling adjustments.
