On June 2nd, 2015 a conference held by the Regulation and Information Communication Committee of China Health Care Association further expounded some of the legislative processes involved in the current revision of health food registration and filing in China.
The new China Food Safety Law stipulates that health food registration and filing systems will be combined, and that health foods using raw materials not listed in a positive list will require registration. It was introduced during the conference that the “Implementation Rules of the Food Safety Law” and “Administrative Measures for Health Food Registration and Filing” are now under development, which will also include the permitted health food raw materials catalogue and the permitted health food functional claims catalogue, as well as the administrative measures governing management of the two catalogues.
