On May 22, 2019, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) opened the public consultation period on the proposed approval of 5 additives of food contact materials (FCM) and 2 new resins[1]following a technical evaluation conducted by the expert review committee. Details are:
One FCM Additive with Expanded Application Scope
According to GB 9685-2016 Standard for Uses of Additives in Food Contact Materials and Articles[2], “fatty acids, C14-C18 and C16-C18-unsatd” can be used in paper, the notification consults on its application in ABS plastic as an emulsifier.
