China to Approve Two New Food Additives Including Glycine

Two new food additives namely glycine and ethyl linalyl are currently undergoing public consultation for approval as new food additives. The application scope of β-carotene will also be expanded to include meat seasoning products.

On Nov. 11, 2016, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) preannounced the approval of two new food additives namely glycine and ethyl linalyl ether and the expansion of the usage/application scope of β-carotene. The public consultation will end Dec. 11, 2016.
