China Approved 6 New Food Contact Material Substances

On November 27, 2017, China NHFPC announced the approval of 6 new varieties of food related products, including 3 new additives of food contact materials (FCM), 1 new resin used in FCM, and the application scope and usage amount are expanded for 2 additives.

New additives applied in FCM

3	2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, 1,2-ethanediylbis (oxy-2,1-ethanediyl) ester, polymer with 2-(diethylamino) ethyl 2-methyl-2-propenoate, 2-hydroxyethyl 2-methyl-2-propenoate and　3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-tridecafluorooctyl 2-methyl-2-propenoate, acetate (salt)	Paper and paperboard	6 mg/dm² (coating amount)	For products containing this substance, the maximum temperature and hours for contacting food are 100℃ and 6 hour respectively
