On October 31, China NHFPC announced the approval of 12 new substances used in food contact materials (FCMs) and articles. 7 additives are newly applicable to the manufacture of plastics, paper and paperboard, or painting and coating. The application scopes of 2 additives are expanded, 2 types of new resin are added, and amorphous hydrogenated carbon is regarded as a new food contact material.
