China CFDA Confirms Grace Period for Infant Formula Recipe Registration

On Sep. 30, 2016, China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) officially confirmed the grace period for formula registration of both domestically manufactured and imported infant formula which will end on Jan. 1, 2018.

On Sep. 30, 2016, China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) officially confirmed the grace period for formula registration of both domestically manufactured and imported infant formula which will end on Jan. 1, 2018.
CFDA finalized “Administrative Measures for Registration of Infant and Young Children Milk Powder Formula Recipes” in June and announced its formal implementation from Oct. 1, 2016 with the simultaneous implementation of a grace period until to Jan. 1, 2018. Relevant registration numbers should be indicated on labels and usage instructions. Infant formula violating these new measures manufactured or sold domestically or exported to China before Jan. 1, 2018 may be sold until production expiration dates.
