CFDA has finalized Administrative Measures for Registration of Infant and Young Children Milk Powder Formula Recipes (see CL Food News on 8 Jun 2016). As per standard procedures for reforms that will significantly impact industry market access a grace period for transition will be granted and supportive rules will be published.
The two points have been confirmed by CFDA according to its website release on 13 Jun. CFDA will announce how long the grace period will last in the following weeks. In addition, it will further publish the following rules which will come into force with the recipe registration rule as of 1 Oct 2016:
- Requirements for Application Materials for Registration of Infant Formula Milk Powder Recipes;
- Rules for On-site Audit and Verification of Registration of Infant Formula Milk Powder Recipes;
