On November 3, 2017, China CFDA drafted Decisions about Revising Administrative Measures for Registration and Filing of Health Foods for public feedback, which mainly concerns the renewal of health food registration. The consultation deadline is November 20.
According to the announcement, China CFDA is to authorize the health food review center to deliver change and renewal of health food registration results to industry. Article 32 and 38 related to renewal registration is updated as well. The exposure draft details that enterprises shall apply for renewal of health food registration 6 months prior to expiry date, and the review center would deliver the result within 10 working days after the decision is made. If a registrant applies for extension less than 6 months prior to its expiry date, the review center would deliver the result within 6 months of the date of acceptance. However, if the certificate expires during that period, enterprises are not allowed to manufacture until obtaining renewed approval.
