At the beginning of 2015, which marks the 10th anniversary of China-Chile Free Trade Agreement, the first batch of imported Chilean dairy cattle, totaling 7000, arrived at China’s Tianjin port on 28 Jan 2015.
Live Cattle Exportation Agreement signed by both sides in 2014 has made Chile the fifth country, after Australia, New Zealand, Uruguay and Romania, that is allowed to export live cattle to China. The imported cattle will be transported to border quarantine for inspection and quarantine, and will then be distributed to seven trading companies in the country once qualification certificates are issued.
