China Food Additives: Subcontracting Manufacture Exempted from Filing with CFDA

CFDA announced on 15 Sep 2014 that regular record filing for subcontracting of food additives will be exempted as of the date.

Details of the announcement are as below:

• Any record filing with local FDAs for subcontracting of food additives will be ended as of the release of the announcement.

• Subcontractors of food additives shall hold a valid production license. Food additives subcontracted shall be labeled in accordance with terms stipulated in Food Safety Law as well as other related food regulations and standards.

Supervision on subcontracting manufacture must be subject to “Supervision and management of food additives”.
