As of Mar. 11, 2020, twenty-one infant formula were granted infant formula recipe approval in 2020. Fifteen infant formula products were rejected by NMPA. Just as ChemLinked indicated last year, China is more stringent when implementing the assessment criteria for registration applications.

Suvow successfully registered its brand "Sujia (素嘉)" in 2017. According to a report released in 2019, Suvow reapplied to change its infant formula to an organic formula. This new application was rejected for undisclosed reasons.
Tips: Before selling an organic infant formula product to China, it’s better to get the manufacturer registered first, then to obtain the organic certificate and finally to register the product recipe.
