French Dairy Giant Has China Infant Formula Registration Application Rejected

The rejection of infant formulae registration applications submitted by Celia Laiterie de Craon underscores China’s new rigorous enforcement of administrative and hygiene requirements during registration application review.

On May 29, SAMR (former CFDA) issued a notice on the rejection of infant formula registration applications, announcing that nine formulae applied for by “Celia Laiterie de Craon” had been rejected. It is the first formal notification of rejection since China implemented its infant formula administrative regulation to date on Jan 1, 2018.
