China Inspection and Quarantine: Importation of Argentine Apples and Pears Approved

On 7 Jan, 2015, AQSIQ announced that apples and pears conforming to the Requirements of Plant Inspection and Quarantine of Apples and Pears Imported from Argentina are allowed to be imported to China after a field investigation and pest risk analysis of apples and pears is conducted in Argentina by Chinese experts.

Approval of orchards and packing plants

Before exporting to China, orchards and packing plants shall register with Argentina’s SENASA and obtain approvals from both countries. Argentine authorities conduct annual audit of exporters and require exporters to pass an inspection process before being added to the list of approved exporters ahead of export season.

  • Ceratitis capitata wiedemann

  • Cydia pomonella linnaenus
