China National Standard: New National Beverage Standard

On Feb. 4, 2015, the new version of GB/T 10789-2015 General Standard for Beverages was jointly released by AQSIQ and SAC. This standard has been revised referencing GB 10789-2007, and will be formally implemented from April 1st, 2016.

GB/T 10789 is an overarching standard that specifies the general requirements on beverages in China. The new version of this standard readjusts the names and definitions of all varieties of beverages. Furthermore, the technical indexes in the product standard of specific varieties of beverages are directly referenced in the new standard.
