On October 19, 2017, China AQSIQ released data on non-compliant imported food and cosmetics in August. Altogether 784 batches of food failed mainly due to lack of inspection and quarantine permits, excessive food additives, and unqualified products.
Dairy products
27 batches of dairy products were non-compliant in August, amounting to over 167 tons. 2 batches of milk powder produced by Devondale was found exceeding shelf life. More than 81 tons of modified milk manufactured by Burra Foods Pty Ltd did not obtain inspection and quarantine permits. Other dairy products, including modified milk powder, fermented milk and cheese, failed inspection due to exceeding permitted nitrite concentrations, use of non-compliant label and package, etc.

Wine
26 batches of grape wine were rejected. The major reason for the failure was non-compliant packaging. Apart from that, some failed due to a discrepancy between the product and the certificate.
Honey
32 batches of honey were found unqualified in August. However, it is worth noting that 8 batches of Manuka honey from New Zealand failed to provide qualifying documentation or required certificates.
