China Opens 5 New Food Related Products to Public Feedback

On September 11, 2017, China CFSA opened 5 new food related products to public comment. Comments should be sent to CFSA by October 11, 2017.

These 5 new food related products include:

1 existing food contact used resin expanded application scope:

• Polyvinyl chloride is newly as a coating in food contact use

3 new food contact resins used in coating:

• Polymer of adipic acid with isophthalic acid, maleic anhydride, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, trimethylol propane and dimethyl-2,6-naphthalene dicarboxyla

• Polymer of isophthalic acid, maleic anhydride, phthalic anhydride, phosphoric acid, trimethylol propane and 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol

• Polymer of isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid, adipic acid, trimethylol propane, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol and ethylene glycol

1 new food related product additive applied in adhesive

• Homopolymers of distillates  of (petroleum), C3-6, piperylene-rich (C5) and copolymers with one or more of the following: isobutylene (C4), styrene, and alpha-methylstyren
