As revealed by an announcement issued by NHC on Sep. 14, 2018, China opened GB standards’ legislation program (2018) for public feedback, and any comment should be sent back prior to Sep. 21, 2018.
Altogether 62 national food safety standards are included in the draft program for revision or formulation, involving food product, food for special dietary use, food additives, food fortification substance and food related product. Testing methods account for the majority of scheduled standards, representing 48% of the total.

It is worth noting that GB standards for birds' nest and its products is proposed to be formulated in the near future.
It is expected that those new/revised GB standards will be issued in the following 3 to 5 years if those items finally go through public consultation and are listed in the legislation program.
