On Nov. 6, 2018, China NHC released the 2018 national food safety standard legislative development program. Altogether 63 GB standards have been earmarked for revision or development and will include standards for food products, food for special dietary use, food additives, food fortification substance and food related product.
Compared to the draft legislation program, the only change is the addition of “Hygiene Standard of Prepared Meat Processing”. It is now certain that a product standard for bird’s nest and plant protein peptides will be drafted in the near future.
