India Mandates ePAAS Portal for Prior Approval and Risk Assessment Applications

On May 6, 2026, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) released an office order implementing a Single Window System through the electronic Product and Claim Approval Application System (ePAAS). This initiative aims to ensure parity and transparency by serving as a unified digital interface for the submission, processing, monitoring, and review of all applications related to the prior approval and risk assessment of food products, ingredients, and claims. The new digital submission mandate will officially come into effect on June 1, 2026.
