India Amends Pesticide Residue Regulations

    On Dec. 24, 2018, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) announced amendments to Food Safety and Standards (Contaminants, toxins and Residues), 2011. It mainly revised maximum residue limits of 213 pesticides in food such as 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid, acetamiprid, and alachlor. Amended regulations will come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette (Jan. 8, 2018).
