Taiwan Amends Pesticide Maximum Residue Limits in Food

1. Taiwan TFDA amended Article 3, Appendix 1 of the Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods, revising MRLs for 38 pesticides across 174 crops with immediate effect.
2. MRLs for tolylfluanid in 12 crops were deleted to align with Codex and major markets such as the EU, as the pesticide is no longer supported or widely used.
3. Additional clarifications include refined crop classifications, corrected Chinese crop names, and updated pesticide classification remarks and international names to improve regulatory clarity.
On April 21, 2026, the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) issued an amendment to Article 3, Appendix 1 of the Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods. This amendment updates the maximum residue limits (MRLs) for various pesticides to strengthen the management of pesticide residues in edible crops. The amendment takes effect immediately upon publication.
