India Proposes to Introduce New Food Additives for Certain Dairy Products

The draft proposes allowing the use of natamycin in chakka and shrikhand, two traditional Indian dairy products

On August 27, 2024, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) released Draft Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2024, involving new additives in certain dairy products. Any feedback can be sent to [email protected] within 60 days from date of publication.
