Indonesia Updates Registration Requirements for Collagen-Containing Processed Foods and Powdered Non-Dairy Creamers

Indonesia BPOM has introduced a new maximum use level for collagen in processed foods, capping it at 10 grams per serving or per package. Powdered non-dairy creamer has been reclassified as a medium-high risk product and now requires SPPT SNI approval and stricter registration documentation.

Indonesia's Food and Drug Authority (BPOM), through its Directorate of Processed Food Registration, has recently issued two regulatory announcements introducing new registration requirements for processed foods containing collagen and for powdered non-dairy creamers. The measures are expected to strengthen regulatory oversight of these product categories and may have significant implications for both domestic manufacturers and foreign exporters seeking market access in Indonesia.
