Japan Revises the Residue Limits of Seven Pesticides in Food

Japan set new MRLs of seven pesticides in foods, including Uniconazole P, Oxathiapiprolin, Cadusafos, Pyribencarb, Fenazaquin, Broflanilide, Pendimethalin. The MRLs of Fenazaquin in many foods became less restrictive. The limit in hops even increased from 0.01ppm to 30ppm.

On May 20, 2022, Japan MHLW released an amendment to the Standards and Criteria for Food and Food Additives, etc. According to the amendment, the maximum residue limits (MRLs) of Uniconazole P, Oxathiapiprolin, Cadusafos, Pyribencarb, Fenazaquin, Broflanilide, Pendimethalin were revised, involving 116 kinds of food. The raised MRLs have come into force since its publication on May 20, 2022, while the rest will have a one-year transition period.

The details are shown in the tables below.
