Malaysia Amends Food Regulations to Introduce Standards for Kelulut (Stingless Bee) Honey

On August 27, 2025, Malaysia’s Ministry of Health gazetted the Food (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025 [P.U. (A) 275], which introduces a new mandatory standard for kelulut honey (stingless bee honey). The amendment to the Food Regulations 1985 establishes a legal definition, compositional requirements, microbiological limits, and labeling rules for this specific type of honey. These new regulations will come into operation on March 1, 2026.
